New Intel Processors Coming Out

Intel Corporation announced plans to develop 50-nuclear system on a chip. A statement was made at the International supercomputing conference (ISC), reported in the official press release.

Processors, code-named Knights Corner will be created using 22-nanometer process technology. However, they are the first solutions based on the new architecture Intel Many Integrated Core (MIC).

MIC will create a platform with a capacity of several trillions of computing operations per second. It will focus on increasing productivity applications that use high-speed parallel computing.

Knights Corner has already delivered a number of partners, Intel, and in the second half of 2010, the corporation plans to expand the number of program participants. Intel notes that the architecture Many Integrated Core is based on a number of development corporations, including the project Larrabee, in which the planned output of discrete computer graphics.

In this architecture MIC does not become a competitor processors Intel Xeon, which are now widely used to create supercomputers. The Corporation noted that 408 of the 500 most powerful supercomputers in world operate on the chips Intel.
