Sony presented battery that uses paper

The Eco-Products Fair held in Tokyo from 15th to 17th December, the company Sony introduced a battery that uses paper to produce electricity.

Although Sony has previously shown batteries that use glucose and so, this is the first time company to demonstrate eco-battery which uses an enzyme that breaks down the paper into glucose, and uses glucose to produce electricity. The breakdown of the paper, Sony uses an enzyme, which breaks down cellulose.

Sony says that in theory, the battery can produce up to 18Wh of electricity (equivalent to the amount that can be generated by six AA batteries) with the decomposition of paper in A4 format.
