Sony created holodeck with Playstation Move and EyeToy-
Seeking to demonstrate the size of the films available through Playstation Store, Sony made a series of short films around the theme "great films fill rooms". Using Playstation Move, production create scenes showing ordinary man without moving from his two-seater, flying over the skyscrapers like a robot or a sailor fighting with sea monsters. The best part is that no aspect of these videos is not added during editing. The scenes themselves are amazing, and the fact that production convince they not edit scenes after shooting really makes them impressive. According to the information they have not used CGI in post production, only traditional camera tips, several projectors and recording in a frame.
The technique is called "projection mapping" and is popular in shooting commercials, but was always limited because the effect is seen only from a static point. That way they could follow the movement of the camera to give more realistic appearance to the camera that recorded by hand. The rest of the action is supplemented with creative accessories and manipulation of the elements thanks to statists. Short films show that the “projection mapping” technique can be used for a whole room in real time. Producers are hoping that in future this technology will be used for home entertainment, making one step closer to a long desired holodek from Star Trek.
