PlayStation Network is again under attack, suspended 93,000 accounts
It seems the users of the PlayStation Network in 2011 will not stay in good memory. According to the notice published from their network security expert is under attack again. Intruders had momentary access to 60,000 profiles and 33,000 PS network profiles of SOE (Sony Online Entertainment).
This time from Sony claim that the source data for compromised profiles is not PSN, but that these data come from one or more lists of other companies, websites and other sources. The attackers tried with these data to obtain access to profiles on network. After the discrepancy of these data with their database, the attack is detected and attacked profiles are temporarily excluded.
Furthermore, as a preventive measure the pasword of affected users will be reset . The same measure will be taken for users of SOE. The report and the measures taken are completely right but this is not an event that happens for the first time to Sony. In this situation their experts react only after problems arise and what is worse does not correct all the services they offer only the infested parts. Perhaps if this trend continues in Sony, their customers will be forced to seek services for their competitors.
