Olympus launched three new compact cameras with PEN changeable lenses, which should occur over the coming months. The new models are smaller and lighter, but offer higher quality, better speed and performance.
Along with the flagship "Pen E-P3", Olympus presented the "Pen Lite E-PL3" and "Pen Mini E-PM1", which are significantly smaller and lighter than previous generations Pen cameras. The company claims to eliminate the problem of previous models, and assures that new Pen have the fastest autofocus system, faster than that of DSLR cameras. Besides cameras, Olympus introduced two new lenses and wireless flash.
Olympus Pen E-P3
Top model of the family Olympus Pen E-P3 has a new 3-inch OLED screen, a new sensor with 12 megapixels, as well as 35 focus points. The first reviews say true focus is fast and works great in combination with the touch screen, but that feature is not shooting moving scenes. The speed with which images are processed is also increased and is better than in previous models. Also there are improvement in the video, so Pen E-P3 1080i AVCHD videos recorded with 60 frames per second. Improvements in sensitivity, which now reaches a whopping 12,800 ISO. In the rest of E-P3 offers RAW shooting, full manual features and the ability to select modes with shutter priority or exposure. New Pen Art has ten filters is fun to play and normally shoot art! :) filters allow photographs to look like photographed with Tilt and Shift lenses, the effect of camera pinhol "Dramatic Tone" which does exactly that - added drama. Filters can be put on braketing, a feature that puts all 10 filters for shooting photos. Olympus Pen E-P3 will cost $ 900 whether the package is a lens with 14-42mm lens (respectively, 28-84mm to 35mm standard ) or 17mm (34mm) pancake lens.
Olympus Pen Lite E-PL3
Younger brother Pen E-P3 have almost the same features and performance, plus something - movable screen and higher-speed continuous shooting, but no built-in flash, or touch screen. It comes with a separate flash, but it must be put on the camera hotshoe contact. Pen Lite has the same manual control and RAW shooting out as E-P3, but there are only six Art Filter Modes. Olympus has not yet published details for prices and the period when the camera will be released.
Olympus Pen Mini E-PM1
Smallest of the three new cameras is Pen Olympus Pen Mini E-PM1, which despite its small size, inside has the same heart as the other two cameras, but there is no special button for the shooting mode, and is not built in flash. The Pen Mini looks like a "idiotic" DSLR with functions, and Olympus say completely changed the menu for better visibility and accessibility settings. The device is intended for those users who want to take the next step after being captured by point & shoot camera, and will be available in multiple colors. Price and availability will be announced additionally.
