Notion Ink hybrid screen

Company Notion Ink on Jan. 19 will begin shipping tablet Adam with a hybrid display. This was reported in the official blog of the company.


The first device will have buyers from U.S. and European Union countries who apply for pre-order on the site Notion Ink. It is expected that they will get the device to the end of January. Recall that taking pre-orders started in mid-December.

Adam tablet runs on mobile operating system, Android 2.2, and is equipped with a screen diagonal of 10 inches. The display is manufactured by Adam PixelQi and is a hybrid.

Tablet users can independently turn off the LED backlight. In this case, the image will be displayed on the screen through special light-reflecting layer. Work will be reflective display in bright sunlight.

When disabled, the LED backlight battery life with the device reading books will be about 40 hours. When running on the wireless connection and watch videos the battery will last for 15 hours. For comparison, the maximum time iPad is 10 hours.

Total Notion Ink sells six models of Adam, the cost of which starts at $ 375. Models with hybrid screen are sold at a price of 499 dollars.
