Hackers have promised to revive Newzbin

Group of hackers has promised to revive the Usenet-search engine Newzbin. A letter was sent to registered users of the service, says TorrentFreak.

In a letter to a group of hackers calling itself "Team R Dogs", said that she managed to get most of the source code and database resource. Earlier, former editor of the search engine under the nickname DeepSharer said in his blog that, according to rumors, the source code was actually stolen.

With the stolen files "Team R Dogs" hopes to start a new search engine named Newzbin 2. In this case the hacker under the pseudonym Mr. White said: "We have too much love [the source] to let him die." He also said that the search engine will work in the near future.

In March 2010 a British court ruled that the search engine Newzbin violate copyrights. The reason for this decision was the complaint filed by the Association filmmakers (MPA). This organization defends the rights of the largest film studios, including 20th Century Fox, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., Paramount, Disney and Columbia Pictures.

The court ordered Newzbin stop indexing movies and TV shows in which the rights belong to the members of the MPA. Also, search engine ordered to pay court costs of the association, which led to the closure of the resource. Writes DeepSharer, provisional amount of the fine without an order of the damage amounts to 230 thousand pounds.
