Canon introduced the EOS C300 camera

The ceremony in Hollywood filled with many guests from the film industry, Canon introduced a new Cinema EOS system with changeable lenses made ​​of camera EOS C300 and seven new EF Cinema lenses.    

The camera has a brand new sensor designated as the equivalent of the Super-35mm standard, which offers a resolution of 8.29 megapixels. Canon says, the sensor has larger pixels than conventional professional cameras, and it provides improved sensitivity and less noise. For each of the three primary colors (RGB), C300 can record Full HD video signal, but the camera can not record in 4k resolution.

To be compatible with the traditional workflow, the camera can record at 24 frames per second, but also can record and 59.41i, 50.00i, 29.97P, 25.00P and 23.98P frames per second. All settings are manual, so obviously the intention of Canon to steer new professional camera to use in controlled conditions.

In the market, Canon's new system will be offered in two versions - with EF or PL bayonet for lenses, to be compatible with existing "photographic" glass of Canon, and with PL standard of film lenses. Both models will be available in January 2012, at a cost of about $ 20,000. EOS C300 is designed for more modest productions, which have no budget for cutting-edge cameras and still offers excellent performance.

Besides the camera, Canon introduced seven new 4K EF Cinema, four zoom lenses top covering the range of 14.5 to 300 mm, and three fixed lenses.
