Cameron set a record for the director\'s earnings

Released in 2009, Cameron film "Avatar" has brought him a total of 350 million dollars. This amount includes the direct payment for work on the movie, a percentage of the fees and bonuses for the fact that the film has surpassed financial expectations studio 20th Century Fox. For comparison, the "Titanic" director earned about 97 million dollars.

A large part of this amount (100 million) - bonus from the sale of DVD and Blu-ray disc with a new film. So, we know that selling 2D version of the movie on both versions of the carriers broke many records. For example, they are within a few weeks tops the ranking of the best selling discs.

It is noteworthy that this amount is not final. In November 2010 go on sale drives for 3D version of the film, and on August 27, 2010 in a limited rental  will be released director's cut "Avatar," which will be exclusively in 3D.

"Avatar" is the highest grossing film in the history of cinema - his taxes account for 2.7 billion dollars. The film tells about the struggle of Aboriginal planet Pandora with terrestrial colonizers involved in producing a rare material.
