Autonomo, new concept for car

Autonomo a new concept for the next generation of cars, developed byCharles Rattray, design student from Melbourne, Australia. Inspiration for this project received after five years living in Los Angeles where constantly had problems with traffic congestion.

Autonomo is a car for one person, equipped with sensors to recognize objects and follows the principles of a special scientific branch of robotics that is called "swarm robotics" which examines the theme of the coordination of systems composed of a larger number of robots and processes of collective behavior of robots. Inspiration for the formation of this area in robotics comes from insects and birds and their movement and collective behavior.

According to studies that cites Wired magazine in 2030 to 60% of the world's population will live in cities and manages over two billion cars, dealing with the daily crowd and traffic problems, which further exacerbate the condition of the existing environmental, financial and social problems.

Although Autonomo is  just an idea and project of an ordinary student, however this area is not unknown to major car manufacturers like General Motors and Volkswagen who have created and invested in similar studies and projects. However, Charles has not been contacted by any of these companies for serious talks.
